| This document was written for DriverX version 3 users who are interested in upgrading
to version 4. Can I get a free upgrade?
If you purchased DriverX version 3 on or after Feb 15th, 2000, you
are eligible for a free version 4 upgrade. When version 4 is
released in late July, just send an email to support@tetradyne.com with your
serial number or company name and ordering date. We will reply
with the license key.
If you want a hard copy of the manual and CD, then you will
need to submit an order form for shipping costs only.
How much does it cost to upgrade?
Please refer to our order form for upgrade
pricing.
What's new in version 4?
Please see the What's New topic in the DriverX help file (bin\driverx.hlp).
Can I run my applications built with DriverX 3 with the new DriverX 4 drivers?
Yes. The DriverX 4 drivers fully support applications and components
built using the DriverX 3 interface libraries. As long as you
don't rebuild your application with the new DriverX 4 libraries,
you can run it with the DriverX 4 drivers.
If I rebuild my application with the DriverX 4 interface libraries, do I need
to make any source changes?
Yes. You need to add one call to a new SetLicenseKey routine
when your application initializes.
What about USB and Linux support?
Both of these items are in the works for a minor version 4.1
update later this year. Any upgrade fee will be small.
