Tetradyne Releases Version 3 of the SourceView MFC Editor Library

Syntax-highlighting MFC editor library.

CAMPBELL, CA -- Jan 28, 1998 -- Tetradyne Software Inc. today announced the release of Version 3 of the SourceView MFC editor library. Using SourceView, MFC developers can easily add a colorful syntax highlighting text editor to their applications.

Syntax-highlighting Features

SourceView supports both color and italic/bold font highlighting. SourceView can be adapted to most syntax requirements by simply setting object properties defining the characters which bound strings and comments. Reserved words can be loaded from text files. Examples are provided for C, BASIC, and HTML. An example of plugging in a custom parsing implementation is also included.

Highly Customizable

The SourceView view class supports extensive customization through a set of virtual member functions. Developers can easily add custom visual elements such as margin bitmaps for both display and printer output. Keyboard and event handling can also be easily customized.

Additional Features

  • Multi-level undo/redo
  • Search & Replace
  • Print and print preview support with optional line numbering and syntax coloring of printed output
  • Drag & drop
  • Clipboard cut, copy and paste
  • Column selection
  • Color and font style dialog

Availability, Pricing, and System Requirements

The SourceView MFC Editor Library is available direct from Tetradyne Software Inc. or any of its authorized resellers at an MSRP of $499 USD. It can also be ordered and downloaded directly from the Tetradyne web page at http://www.tetradyne.com. The library includes a single developer license and provides for royalty-free redistribution.
